I am not sure where to post my questions so I think I will ask elsewhere. A lot of my questions will be related to learning programming in general and these forums don't seem to be where I should be asking these quesitons.

One possibility is Stackoverflow, http://stackoverflow.com.

You should Google for C programming tutorials and read them.
