Hi,

In the installer Wizard, when it comes to filling variables or choosing
between available values, I see, for example:

Installation Location Rule: ${install.root}/${installation.id}

Doesn't this look a bit scary? When I click the arrow on the dropdown
list to see the available choices, the textual descriptions look much
less scary, e.g. "Installed in a uniquely named folder within the root
install folder". Why show the scary variable thing rather than this text
in the text field?

Thanks,
Felix

You can modify the patterns or even enter your own patterns into the text fields. How would you combine this
functionality with showing just the labels of the default patterns?

Cheers

I don't know for sure. Maybe I'll think about it some more if it
continues to tickle me. It doesn't really bother myself, but when I
think about the kind of users who will eventually use my .setup models I
already know that they'll freak out with this variable stuff :D. The
world is tough...
