Dependency on C:\Users\User [message #1712828] |

I used to have Eclipse stalled on my computer but never really used it.
I recently found out Eclipse can be used to develop for Android devices so I thought I'd give it a go because Android Studio was causing me problems.
I've been trying to install Eclipse various ways but I cannot figure out a way to stop it being dependent on the C:\Users\User folder.
I keep trying to set it up in different ways and every time it ends up creating the .eclipse and .p2 folders in C:\Users\User.
So my question is:
How do I make eclipse set these folders up elsewhere?
My reasons for this are partly that I want eclipse self contained on my D:\ drive and partly that I don't want it trying to use my C:\ drive as my C:\ drive is my SSD and it has limited space.
I am aware it's possible to move the user profile, but that would be impractical.
If all else fails I'll have to make symbolic links, but I'd rather not if I can avoid it.
