Eclipse Mars: Download repository index updates on startup - fails

As title mentions, Eclipse Mars m2e plugin is not able to update repository indexes with the error mentioned below. It is running behind company proxy but I notice that "check for updates", "eclipse marketplace", etc have no connection issues. Because of this, it causes problem in selecting in searching and adding dependencies (maven repos).

Is this a bug?
If not please help me resolve this issue.
