Eclipse is stuck. [message #1709347] Sun, 27 September 2015 05:48 Go to next message

I cannot run any new programs on Eclipse. It is stuck on one program, and no matter what I do, it insists on running that program and only that program.

I cannot find out how to delete old programs, and I cannot find a way out of this fix.

Note that I'm completely new to programming. I'm taking an on-line course and cannot ask anyone else for help.

Your question doesn't elucidate what you're doing. Are you running a
program you've written inside Eclipse? What language are you developing in?

Have you halted the program's execution by cliking the red square? Is
there a red square in the Console view?

Etc.

Yes, I am trying to run a program I have written. Obviously, I have done something wrong. But I cannot persuade Eclipse to ignore the faulty program and run somethign else.

What language? Java.

And no, I have not seen the red square anywhere in Eclipse itself. I am not sure where I should go to look for it.

Sorry for the delay in answering; I have been sick and still am not feeling so good. Sad

Thank you for the response.

Please recount step-by-step what you did to launch this program.

Unfortunately, because I've been sick for about half a week, I can't remember precisely what I did.

What I am trying to do now is delete all of the old packages I made so that I can start over and hopefully do things right this time.

And the problem is, I have deleted them from User Name > Workspace, and I've emptied the Recycle Bin.

But they remain in the Eclipse program. They just won't go away.

I would urge you to consider working through a tutorial or two to learn
how to create and work in projects. I'd suggest vogella.de's Eclipse
tutorials.

A belated thank-you. That link was precisely what I needed all along.

Hopefully, I won't have such amateurish problems in the future.
