In order to treat a double click on a table row, I can override execRowAction() on the table. This allows me to react to a double click on a table row.

However, what I would like to do is to react to a double click in the empty part of a table below the rows (or a double click in an empty table). Is this in any way possible?

I am not aware of any scout event triggered by a double click in the empty part of a table. I do not think that what you are looking for exists out of the box in Scout.
