Hey there,

let's continue the question spamming =)

One thing I wondered is, how do you find out which property to set when you want to define a special preference in your eclipse?
You can set all preferences with the PreferenceTask, if you know the key for it.
I have setup a lot of them, but I've got my keys and values from an epf file.
How do find out the keys and needed values for other various preferences?

As an example, I try to find out how to set the maven user settings. I know I can copy a file, but how can I use it. I want to set a path for Preferences->Maven->User-Settings->User Settings.

Do you have any suggestion on how to find out something like this? I don't want you to find out for me, I want to know how I can find it out, because I have several other things to define and don't know how.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I think I found it.

For others who are looking for it:
Help -> Installation Details -> Configuration

There you have a preferences which you can set via the preferences task

Matthias,

We used to be able to record preference tasks directly into any setup
model. Now it only records them into your user.setup. If you open the
user.setup and use the preferences dialog to change preferences, the
ones changed and recorded will be selected in the open editor, so you
could move/copy them to some other setup model.

It would be helpful if it was possible to copy the preference key name to clipboard on the "Oomph Preference Recorder" dialog that appears after the user changed preferences.

It would then be easy to paste the key name to a preference task in the project model without interfering with my user preferences.

Mattias,

It would seem more convenient if preferences could be recorded directly
into the project setup, wouldn't it?
