I was playing around with setting up a custom Eclipse installation using the Oomph Setup Project Model wizard. There were a couple of things I noticed trying to follow along with the authoring documentation here: https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Oomph_Authoring
Note: I start with a fresh installation of Mars and a new, empty workspace.
First, I was having trouble selecting a folder. Trying to browse to a folder pops up a dialog the resulting dialog is empty, says "No entries available." and won't let you create a new Folder. I managed to get around this by adding a forward slash in front of the desired folder name.
Then, what happens is a .setup Editor appears but can't find the CoolStuff.setup resource.
I proceeded to bang my head against the keyboard for way too long before trying to create a new, empty Project "CoolStuff", then re-running the wizard (pointing it to the existing project's folder) with success.
I'm not trying to be nitpicky about the documentation or anything, but it may be worth adding a step before #3 or a bullet point underneath it that the wizard will not create a new project and that you must point the wizard to an existing project in your workspace. (Yes, I realize #3 says "any existing workspace project" but it's a really easy detail to miss... this is a wizard for creating new things, anyway.)
I've got the feeling that, although I may be the first person to make such a mistake given how recently the documentation was created, I probably won't be the last.

Jordan,
Actually all of the File -> New... wizards that create a file or folder
in the workspace suffer this same type of problem. It's impossible to
select an existing location, impossible to create one on the fly, and
hence impossible to complete the wizard.
The bad thing about the setup project wizard is that it lets you type
nonsense in the folder field and hit finish which results in logged
errors. This bugzilla remains open with some outstanding issues in
this regard:
