Hi there,
just for curiosity, so don't take my question too serious:
I stumbled over the project statistics of openhub:
https://openhub.net/p/eclipse/analyses/latest/languages_summary
The Eclipse platform project shows an interesting curve of Lines of Code
and I'm just curious about the main reasons:
* In 2010/3 the measured LoC in the repositroy decreased from about 2.4
Mio to 2.15 Mio.
* Until 2012/6 the Loc increased (including some hops) to about 2.75 Mio
* Since then the LoC seem to decrease constantly with some bigger
down-steps in 2014/9 and 2015/1
Is there any reason for this? Is it about introduction of e4 for which
the LoC first increased and then after consolidation with e3 now decrease?
Or is it maybe just some technical or organisatorial issue? Maybe some
code packages were moved to individual projects or some generated code
that was first checked into the repository now got removed or smth like
that?
So again, I know that LoC metrics are evil, but I'm just curious about
how projects evolve...
Cheers,
Hauke
