Hello All,
First of all I'd like to greet everybody as I'm only starting with BPMN usage and generally EMF.
For the past few days I've been googling a lot to find a solution to generate model documentation from my BPMN 2.0 model.
To give a broader picture what I'm looking for, in my company we have few very complex processes and currently we are trying to apply a format methodology to model them and create a documentation that would allow us to trace impact of changes and allow new members of our team to find their way with those application.
I've already found bits of information stating that BIRT could be used to create such documentation and embedd diagrams together with their comments in a single document (I'd like to avoid pasting images into word documents etc... ) , however I failed to find any solid information to get me started.
Therefore, I would be very grateful for any suggestions where to start with such a task.
Thank you in advance, and regards
Wojtek

If you don't really need BPMN 2.0 compliant documents, then I'd suggest something like Microsoft Visio which can handle very large flow diagrams and offers a very flexible stencil set.
On the other hand, if your application calls for BPMN 2.0 compliance, you'll do well with something like BPMN2 Modeler. There's also an add-on and stencil set for MS Visio that allows you to build BPMN 2.0 compliant documents.

Thank you Robert what you propose would normaly be ok for me however I made some additional automation to create the Diagrams from Data taken from an inhouse software and automate diagram creation based on customer applications.
For this I already testes Papyrus (UML approach) and BPMN 2.0 modeller. What I'm now missing is a connection to BIRT to somehow export the Diagrams without extra manual work corresponding to saving diagram as image then pasting it to Word etc... I'd like to limit the number of manual tasks to a minimum when preparing process models for new customer applications.
Thanks
Wojtek
