This project is a great idea and I'd definitely consider getting
involved. The only immediate question I have concerns your choice of
the term "Platform" instead of "Framework". Is there a particular
point you're trying to make with this designation?

I look forward to seeing the initial code contribution (are you taking
advantage of the Parallel IP process?). Also, if you have a set of
architectural/design docs from the original project, it would be great
to see those on a project wiki. They could be placed in a "historical"
bin to avoid confusing them with actual planning docs.

Congratulations and best of luck on this project!

Great ! You're more than welcome.

We tought "OFF" was not a too good idea :-)

More seriously, the main point about the "Platform" is that we do want OFMP
to :
* "just work" after basic installation.
* be an integration point for existing tools (Mathematical libraries, Batch
jobs scheduling, etc)

we do not wish it to be just a "non integrated" collection of tools.

Indeed we'll submit our Forex Middle Office Platform to Parallel IP Process.

For sure we'll do it if the project is created and our Eclipse OFMP wiki
setup.

Hi Frederic,

I just wanted to introduce the incubating Eclipse Persistence Services
project (nicknamed 'EclipseLink').

EclipseLink will provide access to a variety of backend data sources
including relational and Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) via JCA. I
see from the proposal you have a need for data access from Java so there
may be some synergy between our two projects. I also expect you have some
Java to/from XML conversion needs which EclipseLink also has support for
with JAXB and SDO implementations. Please take a look at our homepage
(below) for some background on the project. We'd love to be able to help
with OFMP's data access and XML needs!

Hi Shaun,

Indeed our OFMP planning includes migrating to EclipseLink framework.

For us it's very important to have frameworks like EclipseLink available,
because Interfacing and Integration with various legacy Financial EIS is a
crucial topic.

I will attend your talk during ESE to a more in depth view about the status
of the project.
