I keep getting the following popping up now with my unit tests. Not
every time, every few times. Any clue or advice on how to find out what
is going on please. Linux/Motif version.
Cheers

We really need a Thread dump to be sure what is happening. My guess is
the launch waits for the build to finish, but never gets notification
when it does.
What VM are you using? Do you have "Wait for build" on
(Preferences/Run-Debug/Launching)?
There have been a few similar bugs. Most have been solved now (I think),
but you may want to do a quick Bugzilla search anyway.

Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.1_07-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.1_07-b02, mixed mode)
I turned "wait for build ..." to Never and that seems to have improved
matters. Should I upgrade the VM? How do I get a thread dump?
Thanks for the help

changes to our launching framework to provide better user feedback when
a Job is blocked. In this case, your launch is blocked by a build, but
the launch should automatically go when the build completes (or is
canceled).
With that said there are still bugs to be worked out (see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=63633 for one example).
RC1 will be out next week and should be an improvement over M9 as there
have been a lot of bugs fixed this week.
I doubt that changing your vm will make a difference. It might be worth
a try though. To get a thread dump hit "Ctrl-Break" in the shell you
used to start eclipse (or "Ctrl-\" if you use linux).
