Eclipse Community Forumsassertions http recording / integration with other test system / GEF
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/26548/86101/#msg_86101
I am new to the TPTP tools and I have some short, but important
questions. I am sorry, if my questions are documented somewhere but the
tptp tools are so extensive. Until now I didn't find answers for my
questions.
Firstly, is it possible to add verification points to a http recording,
e.g. if the title of a received html document is equals "foo". Or is the
http recording tool only designates for performance tests? I have found
one assertion in the generated java test file that checks, if no error
code is returned. Is this the place where I can add own assertions or is
there a different approach?
Secondly, is it possible to intergrate other test systems like cactus or
htmlunit in the tptp testsuite? The problem is that these systems uses
different superclasses, but for tptp I have to use the tptp superclass.
Or am I wrong?
Further, I have another, short, but no so important question. Before
this project I worked a long time with GEF. Is the GUI recorder able to
test plug-ins using GEF, e.g. to verify if the modeling area contains a
box with the name "foo"? Is this possible?
Every help is appreciated.
Cheers,
Jens]]>Jens Bartelheimer2006-10-30T22:21:46-00:00Re: assertions http recording / integration with other test system / GEF

Thanks Navid,
but has nobody a short comment on my other question?
Cheers,

Regarding your first question, you cannot add verification points during
the recording. However, once you generate the JUnit source code for the
generated URL test suite, you can manually add assertions to the various
test methods.
Regarding your second question, to integrate other testing frameworks,
you need to create a new TPTP test type for that framework. For example,
TPTP provides a JUnit test type for the JUnit test framework. See the
'Building a Custom Test Execution Environment' tutorial and source for more
details (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/test/documents/index.php).
I believe your third question is answered in the previous post.
