patterns on our model without changing the UI metamodel.
EMFFacet seems like to place to look for that kind of support.
Is something like UML's profiles/stereotypes inside the scope of EMFFacet?
This would mean being able to support not only derived features (using queries)
but also to persist the added properties/structure.
If it's not in EMFFacet scope, would anybody else be interested in working
on adding something like this together with us?
The current tooling support for UML's profile/stereotypes is not very good
in my opinion, but the modelling possibilities are.
Any suggestions of possible solutions or foreseen pitfalls are appreciated.

We also have this need and we are currently working on an implementation (not published yet). This contribution will be available in the version 0.2.0 of EMF Facet.
We will be really happy to get help and feed back about this new feature. To be informed about the progress of this enhancement you can track the bug 352618 (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=352618).

Great, I will watch the progress and do some tests when you publish.
If you have any additional text on your use case and targets I can find out
if our requirements match and what I could do to help out.

Maybe you knew about this effort already, but it sounds like they are doing
what I would like: http://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/emf-profiles/
I'll try it out and report back.

Yes, I know this project. We planned to collaborate to implement the "non derived facet structural features".

nice to hear that you are interested in EMF Profiles! If you have any questions or if you experience any issues while testing EMF Profiles, please let us know.
