Eclipse Community ForumsAssociations should avoid obstacles?
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/2066/5900/#msg_5900
Congrats for the hard work you made for BPMN and Babel projects! You'll
fix the update site ;)
I want to know if it's a good idea to allow associations to find path like
other connections? Currently, associations arrows overlap with activities.
I can bend them, but isn't auto-magic.
Thanks!]]>Benoit Beaudet2009-01-22T22:05:55-00:00Re: Associations should avoid obstacles?

There is so much work left to actually do the build right... Oisin did a
global RC4 build available on the STP update site. But indeed this isn't
serious. We need to get there.

The other connections have recognizable patterns. We just allowed two
bend points, and we found a way to record their position changes.
For the associations, it's a bit more tedious.
It's very difficult to have an algorithm that detects successfully
collisions and make connections look good. It ends up consuming quite a
lot of resources, and is error prone.
I tend to think that bugzilla is a good tickler for action items though.
So please feel free to file an enhancement request. I won't be able to
address it before long though.
