Eclipse Community ForumsLDAP?
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/17547/56249/#msg_56249
I am a newbie to DTP.
Is it conceivable - or has it already been done - that a ODA data source
is not a tabular (eg, db, csv) but rather a hierarchical information
model (ie, LDAP) ? Or does my question make no sense ?
Thanks, chris]]>No real name2009-05-14T13:54:43-00:00Re: LDAP?

I presume you meant OLAP?
The ODA framework supports tabular result sets only at this point. There is
a yet to be scheduled enhancement to support multi-dimensional result sets
as well (Bugzilla 204345), but it is not going to be in the Galileo release.

No, I really meant LDAP. The ODA documentation, if I recall correctly,
states the framework aims to support a broad variety of data sources,
including hierarchical data (eg, XML). Thus I wondered if anyone had
ever tried a LDAP data source.
Thanks, chris

I see. A data source's data may be hierarchical, and an ODA driver such as
the DTP enablement.oda.xml driver, flattens its hierarchical data into a
tabular ODA result set. So it is indeed feasible for an LDAP oda driver to
do similar.
Hope others in the community can respond if someone has implemented one for
LDAP.
