I am new withPulsar. I've just started using it when latest Ericsson's SDS release started using Pulsar.
I am not able to run Midlets and I am confused with which ME to use: J2ME or Java ME
When I used SDS 4.1 FD1, in Window -> Preferences there was only the option J2ME, but in Pulsar there is two options: J2ME or Java ME
In Java ME configuration panel I am able to set the Device Management correctly to Java ME SDK 3.0, but in J2ME conf panel I am not able to setup device management.
When I try to import the devices from WTK root directory, it does not find any device!
If I try to run any one SDS IJCU sample with Emulated Java ME Midlet, it starts running, log nothing, and die.
If I try to run any one SDS IJCU sample with Emulated J2ME Midlet, it shows the message: "Device unspecified or unavailable". This message is ok because I really could not specify the device for J2ME.
Please, I would llike to know why Pulsar have two ways to work with Midlets and I also would like to know how to make Java ME devices work.
Where I can find logs?
Any help will be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
My best regards,
Rodolfo

Java ME was formerly called J2ME.
If you want to run IJCU samples on Pulsa, you need to download the latest version of SDS, SDS4.1 IJCU, where all the IJCU samples have been updated to use MTJ instead of EclipseME.
WIth the new samples, you won't have problems importing the WTK. You just need to set the Device Configuration in the Java ME.

Thanks for the update. I'm just writing about Pulsar and new mobile trends
at Eclipse, so this seems like good information for our readers.
What about Android? Sony-Ericsson has just released the brand new X10 based
on Android 2.1.
Are there plans to finally get some Android support into Pulsar, or does S-E
at least offer something Android specific themselves?
Thanks,
Werner]]>Werner Keil2010-04-22T07:20:38-00:00Re: J2ME x Java ME
