Eclipse Community ForumsGraphical Ecore Editor and support for plugin URIs
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/155387/489559/#msg_489559
I'm using Ecore Tools' very nice graphical editor. I need to extend an
existing model defined in a plugin, but the Load resource.. dialog only
lets me add workspace and file URIs. Is there any reason for disallowing
plugin URIs?

I think it should be changed to support that. I'd suggest opening a
bugzilla feature request.
EcoreActionBarContributor.ExtendedLoadResourceAction could be reused...
