Eclipse Workbench (like 'Overview', 'Samples', etc)?
If yes then how?
I am able to contribute to second level pages (e.g. Overview, Samples),
but want a link/button from root page to provide switching to my plugin's
perspective.
Please help
Thanks.]]>Vikram Sjn2008-09-02T07:06:51-00:00Re: Contributing to root Welcome page

The hard part is figuring out the name of the anchor you need to
contribute to. If I can find some time I'll create and post an example
or maybe someone else on the group already has one that they can share.

Could some give some indication where to look for, to locate the anchor(s)
of the root page.
An example will certainly be still more helpful.
Thanks.]]>Vikram Sjn2008-09-03T06:10:52-00:00Re: Contributing to root Welcome page

Because you did not quote the original message, I don't know what
specifically you are asking about. But here is some material on
contributing to the universal welcome: http://www.eclipsecon.org/2007/index.php?page=sub/&id=36 55 (click the
"Presentation File" link near the top).
We've used that information to add our own section to the welcome page.
Hope this helps,

I just made an attachment which adds a contribution to the root page.
Creating an intro contribution is relatively easy if you use the PDE
wizard as follows:
File/New/Project/Plug-In Project
Give the project a name and accept the defaults but on the templates
page select "Custom plug-in wizard".
Hit next and select Universal Welcome Contribution.
Moving it to the root page is harder. I started with this contribution
and changed the path to be "root/head-anchor" changed the text a little
and modified the css to change the color of the text.
The hardest part was figuring out what the anchor was so I just made a
change today which will make this a little easier. This will start to
show up in the nightly builds soon. If you use Eclipse 3.5M5 there are
two additional tools which can help you to debug intro. To turn them on
in the Tracing tab of the Run Configurations dialog set debugging on for
org.eclipse.ui.intro and turn on debug./toolbar. Then when you launch
intro you will see two new toolbar buttons, one launches the intro page
in an external browser so you can use Firebug to debug your css. The
other shows a tree of the intro model, however it does not show the path
to anchors. That was the change I made today.
Intro is way more confusing than it should be, if anyone is interested
in writing a doc page on tips and trick for writing intro I will be
happy to incorporate it into the Eclipse documentation.
