1. Downloaded eclipse-inst-win64.exe from https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/oomph/epp/2019-06/R/eclipse-inst-win64.exe using the Download from: United States - OSU Open Source Lab (http) mirror.
2. Ran eclipse-inst-win64.exe as Administrator. Splash screen is shown and then installer fails with Java crash.
The failing JVM is IBM Java 8.0.5.36. Is this a known problem?

AdoptOpenJDK. The Eclipse installer runs fine using the OpenJDK Java 8 with HotSpot from AdoptOpenJDK. From the IBM Java Support Engineer I'm working with on this issue:
Quote:
We think the issue might be related to how Eclipse is handling the `JAVA_HOME` parameter. For some reason, it seems like it handles the AdoptOpenJDK 8 with HotSpot implementation properly, but not IBM's. The best path forward would be to open a ticket with Eclipse
Where should I open the Eclipse bug?]]>Geoff Alexander2019-06-24T19:16:18-00:00Re: Installer fails with JVM Crash
