My team (users: Caio Romão and victor rabelo) is working on some translations of Eclipse into Brazilian Portuguese in the Babel Project.
Specifically in the project called "Eclipse".
I would like to know: how does the process of uploading translations works?
Does the translation go through an approval? If so, when will the translations be available in the IDE version of Eclipse?
Have a great day

Thank you for your interest in Babel. In which format would you be supplying these translations?
We have not received a sizeable contribution of translations (other than those performed using the translation tool, babel.eclipse.org) in a long time. Typically, a bug is filed, an attachment is created and the Babel team sends the translations for review from the Eclipse Legal team. That review is legal only; the actual content is not examined for quality or exactitude.
From there, we would likely reach out to the community to validate the overall translations and if they are valid, they would be imported into Babel. They would be in the next Nightly build and available for download almost immediately.
One question, for anyone to answer: what happens if a contributed translation differs from an existing translation already in our Babel database?
Thank you!]]>Denis Roy2018-03-14T17:26:19-00:00Re: Babel Eclipse Project translation process

About the format of the translations, we are actually working through the translation tool on Babel, babel.eclipse.org and we are working on Brazilian Portuguese.
We started working on these translations in the last Monday, March 12th.
"We have not received a sizeable contribution of translations (other than those performed using the translation tool, babel.eclipse.org) in a long time"
In this case, what do you mean about "sizeable contribution"? How many strings we have to translate to make enough content to deploy it?
About the Nightly Build, is it the next version of Eclipse?
Thanks a lot for your help.

In the past, we've received a ZIP file of translated .properties files. These require legal review and are time consuming. Translating via Babel.eclipse.org is definitely better.
All translations through babel.eclipse.org is valuable. Please continue :)

About the Nightly Build, is it the next version of Eclipse?
I will add links to these Nightly builds on our download pages. They were not easy to find!
Thank you!

Thanks for another reply. We are really glad about it.
Can you tell us how long it takes to finish the process of deploying our translation?
I know its probably hard for you to tell, but is just for our team to make our schedule and define how much time we will be working on this Project.
We have finished our task of translating the Jaspersoft Studio, but some parts of the software run on Eclipse platform. So, we need to translate these parts on Eclipse too.
All this Project will be used by our clients and we can't release it until Eclipse translation is done.
We know that most part of Eclipse is translated to Brazilian Portuguese, but a lot of details in the components and menus remains in English.
Can you help us, Dennis?]]>Caio Romão2018-03-14T18:35:58-00:00Re: Babel Eclipse Project translation process

I see, Denis.

I can't remember how often Kit rebuilds the language packs. When you are done your translations, perhaps we can ask for a release?

Thank you and have a great week.

Our team worked a lot on the Eclipse translation to brazilian portuguese, but we are worried about when the translation project will be finished. So, can we ask you for a "preview" to see the results? Can you compile a version so we can see the affected areas in the application?
Thanks for your attention, have a great day.]]>Caio Romão2018-04-19T11:45:19-00:00Re: Babel Eclipse Project translation process

It's been a long time since we talked...Our team is still waiting for your answer...can you help us with the release?
If your translating work is complete, we can produce a new build. Is your work complete?
Thanks!]]>Denis Roy2018-05-04T20:17:09-00:00Re: Babel Eclipse Project translation process

We have not yet finished the brazilian portuguese translation, but we worked really hard on the project.
Unfortunately, we were unable to preview the progress of our translation because we had this error
Can you help us?
Thank you, Caio.

We succeeded using this Build (http://build.eclipse.org/technology/babel/update-site/N20180509-0200/oxygen/) and reinstalling Jaspersoft Studio.
That way, we were able to see the preview of our translation work, which was amazing.
However, there are some menu texts that we still need to translate, and we do not know in which files they belong in the translation projects on Babel.
Could you help us pointing the files?
I attached a .RAR file containing images of the menus that we still need to translate.]]>Caio Romão2018-05-09T18:31:19-00:00Re: Babel Eclipse Project translation process

Babel Pseudo Translations are a very useful tool for globalization testing of Eclipse projects.
See the "Babel Pseudo Translations" Eclipse Corner Article (http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-babel-pseudo-translations/article.html) for step-by-step instructions and examples describing what are the Babel Pseudo Translations, where to download them, how to install them, and how to launch Eclipse in Babel Pseudo Translations.
I found some of the strings in your attached images.
Other strings from the Palette view and Outline view may come from your product.]]>Kit Lo2018-05-09T21:13:27-00:00Re: Babel Eclipse Project translation process

Me and my team are trying to use the Babel website, but it's inaccessible.
