Eclipse Community ForumsProblem of memory consumption with Jetty 9 and JDK8
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/1067502/1698536/#msg_1698536
We use Jetty 9.2.11.v20150529 and 64bits Oracle JDK 1.8.0_45.
Before using JDK8, one of our jetty instance used about 320Mb of memory, after changing the JDK, the same instance use about 1,2Gb of memory. If we deactivate jetty-annotation module, the memory consumption fall down to 720 Mb.
Has anyone faced the same problem ?
Java version information :
java version "1.8.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_45-b14)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.45-b02, mixed mode)

https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/367930/1409557/#msg_1409557
I am trying to find out how to create an IDE product (in Eclipse 4.4) that contains most of the Eclipse Standard but with all the Java-development things replaced with my own (existing) language support plugins. All I find on the net are dead ends.

https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/477176/1042471/#msg_1042471
This is probably not the correct place to post this question. If you have any other suggestions where I should post this, they are welcome.
What I wonder about is if there are some libraries/tools/framework available for creating a runtime environment/virtual machine (mostly from scratch)? That is, a common framework where different structures like a stack and heap, etc are already implemented. It should be possible to define and realise a new instruction set. (Preferably in Java.)
Any tips? ]]>Peter Johnsen2013-04-16T13:26:05-00:00Is this Jetty Bug fixed ? Eclipse Bug# 364921 - FIN_WAIT sockets

https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/367930/897265/#msg_897265
I want to define my target platform by lookingin the RT components and
then select something that will give me an empty IDE workbench, so with
basic team support, project explorer, but without Java, PDE or any other
development tools.
How should I do that?

Being that this thread is a bit dated, I hope you will still receive this followup.
I too have come into this exact same situation. Would you mind following up with what / how / if you were able to bypass this issue?
I'd really like to take advantage of the the PDE API baseline tools.
Thanks,

are successful maybe we will look at other places. btw, EclipseCon and
Eclipse Summit Europe always have lots of RT content. Where are you
located?
