Scott Fryer

Having spent almost 10 years working in the utility sector, and a further 16 years in the financial services sector, Scott joined Red Hat/IBM a little over 4 years ago and has been working at the Adoptium project since. Having performed every role across IT, before settling in to a DevOps / SecDevOps role, he has been part of a large number of exercises in assessing and meeting regulatory requirements and frameworks, which has allowed him to combine skill sets to help assess and implement tools and processes to meet the newly imposed IT security frameworks that are becoming ever more prevalent.

Outside of work, his time is taken up by board games, and a 5 year old golden retriever.

Andrew Leonard
Andrew Leonard, Senior Software Engineer, IBM

Andrew Leonard

Andrew Leonard is a Lead Engineer for Build and Distribution at the Eclipse Adoptium project, where he ensures the health and efficiency of Eclipse Temurin build pipelines. With 36 years of experience at IBM Hursley Laboratory — spanning COBOL/PL/I on CICS through to Java on WebSphere Application Server — Andrew brings deep technical breadth to modern open-source engineering.

Andrew leverages IBM Bob AI across system design, architecture, and code development as a core part of his engineering workflow. He is currently leading the complete redesign and implementation of Adoptium's next-generation CI pipelines — a ground-up rearchitecture delivering a more modular, better-structured, and CI-agnostic build system — with IBM Bob AI playing an active role from architectural exploration through to hands-on code development. His work also spans secure development practices including SBOM generation and reproducible build verification for one of the industry's leading OpenJDK distributions.
