We’re thrilled to announce that the program for OCX 2024 is now live! This year’s conference promises a rich and diverse lineup with engaging topics across our main track and collocated events.

In the OCX main track, attendees can look forward to sessions on the future of cybersecurity, focusing on free and open source tools for CRA compliance for SMEs, advancements in AI-assisted coding and insights on running an independent open source project.

EclipseCon 2024 will discuss the latest advancements around development environments and applications, modeling technologies and tool frameworks.

The Open Community for Java will explore the full spectrum of Java's capabilities, from Jakarta EE, Adoptium, Java and MicroProfile, to the cutting edges of open source technology adoption.

The Open Community for Automotive will explore collaboration through open source for regulatory compliance in connected vehicle software updates and rapid prototyping of Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) applications, AI, data sharing and data spaces, safety, security and legal and much more.

Eclipse Foundation Releases the Industry’s First Survey of Open Source Developers and Policymakers from the Global South

The Eclipse Foundation has released the “State of Open Source in the Global South” report. The survey was conducted with the support of ClearPath Strategies, a global research and consulting firm.

Based on the results of in-depth interviews and a comprehensive survey, the report highlights the pivotal role of open source software in fostering innovation, economic growth, and societal development in the Global South.

The report explores the attitudes and opinions of developers in the Global South and amplifies the voices of these vital and influential communities contributing to global innovation. Findings highlight the substantial potential and impact of developers in the Global South, both within their countries, as well as on the global open source ecosystem.

2024 Satisfaction Survey for Eclipse Committers

Eclipse Committers are invited to share their input through the 2024 Committer Satisfaction Survey they have received in their inbox. Responses will be collected until 31 July 2024 at 11:59 CET.

Reminder: General Assembly on 30 July 2024

A meeting of the General Assembly (GA) of the Eclipse Foundation AISBL has been scheduled. The formal convening notice was sent to Member Representatives on 13 June 2024. The primary agenda item is to enable the members to review and approve the audited financial statements and the auditor’s report for the 2023 fiscal year ending 31 December 2023.

The GA meeting will be held on Tuesday 30 July 2024 at 15:00 CEST/9:00 EDT via Zoom and at the Foundation’s office in Brussels. All members are welcome to attend.

Member Representatives of Voting Members (i.e., Strategic and Contributing member organisations) received details, including the materials for the meeting and electronic ballots to vote in advance of the meeting.
