I hope everyone is having a safe and productive 2021. While we all continue to live under the challenges of COVID-19, I hope everyone is doing well personally and professionally.
I’m happy to report that the Eclipse Foundation is off to a great start in 2021 by virtually every measure. Our membership remains strong, with our numbers totaling 337 members as of the end of February.
Of note, we recently welcomed Daimler TSS as our latest Strategic member. We believe this decision from Daimler TSS is recognition of the strategic impact of open source, as well as a belief in the Eclipse Foundation’s projects, processes, and people. Welcome!
Corporate Restructuring Complete
Our corporate restructuring is now complete, and we are now a European-based open source foundation. By this, we mean we are now fully operational as a Belgian-based international non-profit association.
As we have explained in earlier reports, this change won’t have any direct impact on our projects, developers, or working groups. But it will allow us to engage in new global initiatives and better reflects the fact that approximately two-thirds of our members and two-thirds of our committers are based in Europe. Thanks to all of our members who are working with our membership team to affect the migration of your membership. This migration will continue to take a few months.
Budget Approved
Our board approved our 2021 budget in December 2020, which I have summarized in the table below. As you can see, we continue to see overall strong revenues, and the Foundation’s finances continue to be healthy.
