EclipseCon 2020

Plans are underway for next October's EclipseCon (October 19 - 22 in Ludwigsburg, Germany). A few things are changing in 2020.

The conference name is now "EclipseCon." This reflects that even though the event is in Europe, it is the largest and most important gathering of the global Eclipse community each year.

The program will be chosen earlier this year. The Call for Papers opens on April 15 and closes on June 15. Follow @eclipsecon for the latest news so you don't miss any deadlines!

Welcome to Our Two New Strategic Members!

The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to welcome IOTA Foundation and DLR as Strategic members.  

The IOTA Foundation are the creators of a highly-scalable, feeless, open-source, and permissionless distributed ledger technology known as the IOTA Tangle, and are the founding member and driver behind the Tangle EE Working Group. Through the Tangle EE Working Group, the IOTA Foundation will help foster a global community of contributors and adopters and explore key IOTA use case areas including decentralized identity, data integrity, and feeless payments.

By increasing their commitment to Eclipse Foundation as a Strategic member, DLR is demonstrating their leadership in fostering a collaborative mobility and transport ecosystem through the OpenMobility Working Group, and their support of the Foundation’s activities in Europe in general.

IoT Commercial Adoption Survey Results Now Available

The results of our first IoT Commercial Adoption survey are in! The survey closed in December with 366 participants from around the globe. The goal of the survey was to go beyond our annual IoT Developer Survey and gain insight into the industry landscape from the point of view of a broader spectrum of IoT ecosystem stakeholders.

COVID-19 Impact on Upcoming Events

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) makes headlines around the world, conferences and community events throughout our industry continue to be cancelled or postponed. With the health and safety of our employees and community members as a top priority, the Eclipse Foundation has decided to restrict all non-essential travel for our staff through the next 60 days until mid-May. This means that we will not be attending any events through mid-May, and will assess our participation beyond that point following recommendations from the Canadian federal government, the World Health Organization, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). 

We will continue to provide updates about our participation in events through our social media channels: Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
