Explanation of Project Reviews
All work at Eclipse is done in sub-projects and components organized under top-level projects. The top-level projects are managed by PMCs (project management committees).
The life-cycle of an Eclipse Project goes through a number of phases. At the end of each phase, the community meets to review the project. The most common reviews are:
- Creation Review - preceding the creation of each new project
- Release Review - preceding each major release of each project
Reviews are announced via the RSS feed and on the eclipse.org-committers and eclipse.org-membership-at-large mailing lists.
Slides and, where relevant, IP logs, of all previous reviews are available for inspection.
