Andrey Loskutov

I have been a passionate Eclipse developer for nearly twenty years, and the Eclipse platform owner at Advantest Europe GmbH for ten years. From that background it is obvious that my main interest is Eclipse IDE and the ecosystem around it.

I'm not a man of many words, and prefer not to promise anything I can't deliver. My main goal is to keep the Eclipse IDE on the desktop going, despite all the Web/Cloud/IoT/BlockChain etc. hypes that come and go.

My focus is especially on Eclipse IDE quality and stability, reliable tests and solid infrastructure.

My motto could be better expressed in Russian: "Спасение утопающих - дело рук самих утопающих," which means basically "if you don't want to go under, learn how to swim."

I have worked since 2006 as software engineer/Eclipse platform owner at Advantest Europe GmbH in Germany. Because of my job and for my own pleasure, I do lots of open source development. I'm the author of a few Eclipse plugins and a committer on Eclipse Platform / JDT / EGit / JGit / SpotBugs projects.

In my former life before Advantest, I grew up in Moscow, Russia, studied Geology at Moscow State University, moved to Germany, built a few roads, cut many trees and received my diploma in Mathematics and CS at the University of Hannover while working full time as a software engineer for TUI Infotec.
