Builds
Platforms
- Windows 7: Dani, Manju
- Linux-GTK: Noopur
- Mac OS X 10.8: Markus
Goal
- test new functionality added since M5
- verify that severe bugs are correctly fixed
Test New Functionality
First test the items where listed as first tester, then go to the other ones.
Tab traversal in part stacks (Markus - Questions: bug 376011)
- test (Ctrl+)(Shift+)Tab traversal everywhere
- test Sub-Tab traversal
Info views indicate when they are out of sync (Noopur, Markus - Questions: Dani)
Test the Javadoc and the Declaration view.
- test that the view indicates when it goes out of sync
- test that the out of sync indication goes away when back in sync
- test that the out of sync indication goes away when clicking the link button twice
if-else closing bracket hover includes else statement (Dani, Manju - Questions: Noopur)
- test that the else statement is shown in the hover
Convert to if-return quick assist (Markus, Dani - Questions: Noopur)
- verify that the quick assist works as expected
- verify that the quick assist appears at the expected locations
- verify that the quick assist does not appear at unexpected locations
Extract field access to checked local variable quick fix (Manju, Markus - Questions: Stephan or Dani)
- verify that the quick fix works as expected
Package segments in Javadoc headers appear as links (Dani, Noopur - Questions: Manju)
- verify it in the Javadoc view and the Javadoc hovers
Report to user if attached Javadoc is not accessible (Markus, Noopur - Questions: Manju)
- verify different scenarios where the attached Javadoc can't be accessed
- verify it in the Javadoc view and the Javadoc hovers
Whole word search option on File Search page (Manju, Noopur - Questions: Dani)
- test that the option works
You don't need to test regex+whole word being enabled, as this will go away for M6 (see bug 402009).
New option to use last used search page (Noopur, Manju - Questions: Dani)
The Search dialog has a new option, which allows to remember the last used search page, instead of computing the
page which matches best. The option is available via 'Customize...' dialog.
- test that the option works when enabled
- test that opening on the best fitting page works again when disabling the option
Bug Verification (All)
Before starting to verify a bug add a comment indicating that you are about to verify it.
Sanity Check The Build (All)
When done with all assigned items, sanity check the build by using it for development (either on "real" code or your pet project).
