Goal
- test new functionality added since 3.6 M1
- verify that severe bugs are correctly fixed
- sanity check performance
Test New Functionality
First test all those items where you are listed as first tester.
JUnit split (Raksha, Dani - FAQ: Markus)
- test that the Core/UI split of the org.eclipse.jdt.junit plug-in (added o.e.jdt.junit.core) didn't cause regressions
- test that view is still opened when JUnit launch configuration is run
- test scenarios with multiple test runs running in parallel
- test scenarios with multiple JUnit views (in multiple windows)
- test switching between test runs
- verify that terminated and invisible test runs are swapped out to disk (there should only be a TestRoot object in memory
for test runs that are currently shown or that are not terminated yet)
Find/Replace changes (Markus, Raksha - FAQ: Dani)
- test that 'Wrap search' is enabled by default in a new workspace
- test that 'Wrap search' setting is preserved
- verify that regex content assist works but isn't triggered automatically (see bug 259592)
- test that 'Replace All' replaces all matches no matter where the caret is (see bug 285821)
Improved adding of Javadoc (Raksha, Markus - FAQ: Dani)
Test that adding Javadoc (Alt+Shift+J) works as expected (see bug 282468).
- verify that it is fast
- verify that it does not show a dialog when executed inside the editor
- test that it works when executed from the Package Explorer
