Goal

• test new functionality added since 3.5 M1
• verify that severe bugs are correctly fixed
• sanity check performance

Test New Functionality

Links in Javadoc headers

• check that they work in Javadoc view and in hovers
• check that they work for Javadoc from source, from a zip, and for doc from the web

Sanity-check complex templates

• check that the optimized regular expressions in TemplateTranslator (bug 243691) are OK, e.g in SWT templates

Test parameter hints for multi-line method calls

• test that parameter hints appear on each line of multi-line method calls
• test that keyboard navigation doesn't close parameter hints when going to another line

Open With in Resource Dialog

• test that context menu item works
• test that the arrow down button works
• test that the context menu is correct with different list selections
• test that the arrow down button is correct with different list selections

Select comment with double-click

• Java editor: test that double-click on start and end of comments selects the whole comment
• Properties editor: test that double-click on start of #-comment selects the whole comment
• verify that 3.4 double-click behavior still works as expected

Open Strategy

• test JDT views using single-click and double click open mode (bug 45186)

Suppress compiler problem for 'switch' case fall-through

• test that the keyword works
• test the the quick fix

Compiler problem for missing synchronized modifier

• test that the problem is correctly reported
• test that changing the preference works

Open *.jardesc files with JAR Export Wizard

• test that the JAR file export wizard is opened by default

Open test result files in JUnit view

• test opening result files from Eclipse or the Ant JUnit via double-click or via Open With > JUnit View.
• test opening results via JUnit view via the Test Run History... drop-down menu
• test that JUnit view's Import... and Export... actions reuse the most recently used location

Method return type shown per default

• verify that the method return type is shown by default in all Java views
