Hi,

I have 'wrapped' my plugins into a feature. The plugins are working
correctly, but the feature does not appear in the Feature Details list.
However, the feature does appear in the Manage Configuration dialog.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Here is my feature.xml (which is in
features/com.crt.tools_0.9.2). It was generated by the feature Export
Wizard.

Thanks,

label="com.crt.tools"
version="0.9.2"

You need a branding plugin.

Sunil,

Thanks - very helpful.

But, this doesn't work if the feature and the branding plugin is
packaged as a .jar or a .zip (which is what the Feature Export Wizard
does). The log file says it "cannot find feature.xml in
<path-to-feature>.jar". I have to supply them both as unpacked directories.

Am I missing something, or is this a known 'feature' of features?

Thanks,

It works fine for features which are packed in a jar.
That's how I deploy my features/plugins.
I assume that your feature is being installed using the Update wizard.
The Update wizard automatically unpacks the feature jar. The plugins remain
in jarred format.
If you are installing your feature any other way, it must be unpacked when
installed.
