Hallo,
I have a problem with my SCM tool that I have successfully used until M7.
I install the official IBM Rational ClearCase Plugin for Eclipse.
I download 2.1.35.zip. This file contains 2.2.1.35! Under eclipse this is
reported as 2.2.1.35 (in the table) and 2.2.36 (below the table). Build id
20020612.
In sort I use the newest version that is downloadable. It is intended for
use with Eclipse 2.0 but work until M7. With M8 I can still use it to
check out manually.

However with M7 the following use case was possible:
Open a java file that is under source control in an editor. Trying to edit
this file (hit space).
Depending on the settings of the plugin clearcase checkout the file
automatically or prompt me with a question if it should do so. With M8 I
get only an ?Exception running validator code?. I must close the editor
and reopen the file. Than I can still not edit the file, again the
exception instead of the question I see in M7. I must select the file in
the Navigator or Package Explorer and hit the checkout button.
It was also in the past never possible to simple checkout the file that is
currently open in the editor. The focus must be on the package explorer or
navigator. So just hitting the space bar inside the editor was a quick way
to provocative a checkout and just answer yes to the pop up question.

With M7 I get also sometimes validator error messages. But this was
limited to the launcher dialog (Run->Run).

Are any tips besides using CVS ;-)

Thanks
Robert

PS: We use dynamic views.

Just to let you know, the VSS plugin is also killed by M8. They seem to
have made big improvements which simply prevent the old code to work.

Please file a bug report with the error message(s) - maybe something got
accidentally broken.

Try the open source eclipse-ccase alternative on sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/eclipse-ccase

Works fine with M8.

Does it support UCM (Clearquest activities and defects assigned to the
clearcase operations...) as well?
