Hello. I am having an issue with page numbers in BIRT 4.2. I need to have page numbers on my report when I output the report to a pdf. With every method that I have tried, the page number variable appears to increment only when there is a page break that I specified in the report design. When there are multiple pages because a table ended up being bigger than usual, both pages with have the same page number. I first tried putting <viewtime-value-of>pageNumber</viewtime-value-of> in the footer. I have also tried adding onCreate and onRender scripts to the footer to increment a global variable and then put it in the footer, but this has the same problem. Does anyone have a method for getting around this problem?

Are you using fixed layout or auto layout (General property for the report)? Standard autotext page number should work fine here.

Hi Jason. I am using fixed layout. I tried autotext, and it does work. Thanks for the help.
