Try deleting <workspace>/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.workbench/workbench.xmi with eclipse closed, and then start it up on that workspace again. Does that help?

This has happened for me too and I can't get it to go away. I've tried deleting all eclipse files and reinstalling but the message still persists.

!MESSAGE Unable to load resource platform:/plugin/org.eclipse.ui.workbench/LegacyIDE.e4xmi

I deleted .metadata folder: same error
I created a new workspace folder: same error.

I have the same problem, did you find a solution?

Frustratingly, no I did not.

I had to roll back to Indigo. I can only assume that there is a solution, although I had so many other issues at the same time that I could not distinguish between them. This was a complete re-installation of environment for me. I must stress though, that I do not believe that this was solely an Indigo problem when I came across it.

Excuse the late reply. Have you found a solution over the last week?

I believe I added org.eclipse.platform to my launch configuration,
not sure it's the correct way, but it worked for me.
