Hi,

I am using TPTP 4.3.1 and i have all of the required dependacies including
the optionals to allow the interaction with BIRT for reporting.

After i have recorded a URL test, generated the test class and run the
test sucesfully (using the tests recording not JUnit test class) i try and
create a report. I right click the test script and select -> Report. The
list of reports is blank!?

I have recently upgraded from TPTP 4.2.1 where this reporting worked fine.
In fact, right clicking a test script created with 4.2.1 still brings up
the correct report options in the report dialogue!

Any ideas?

cheers
Will

Hi,

I suspect an install issue. This functionality was all part of the
official test pass that myself and others performed for the 4.3.1 release
on both Windows and Linux. I would double check that you are using one of
the supported JVM's. I would suggest you try the "TPTP all-in-one
package" to make sure the right combination of packages are installed ,
then add the BIRT package from the 4.3.1 download site.

Hope this cures the problem,
DuWayne

Hi Will,
This appears to be an install or confirmation issue. Do you have any
errors in your .log file?

That is, configuration and not confirmation:)

I am pretty sure that the packages i have installed are correct, i
installed the version from the relevant update sites and have checked and
double checked the version and the pre-requisites.

I dont get any errors in the log files (within the workspace .metadata
folder - are there any other logs i should be looking for?).

Maybe i need to do a re-install, but i have lots of other plugins
installed which i dont want to do all over again! Can i install the
all-in-one package over the top by simply overwirting what is already
there or should i use the update site again?

cheers

Will

Hi Will,
The log file I was referring to was the <Eclipse
worksapce>/.metadata/.log.

The TPTP all-in-one does not include the BIRT reporting feature and BIRT
dependency. That said, the problem is independent of BIRT since the other
report types do not appear.

Can you attach your test suite and execution result files?

Thanks Paul - the log file is the one i have looked in - no errors there...

I am using the web interface for this news group so i cant attache files.
My work firewall doesnt allow me to connect via a decent news tool either.
Can i email the files instead?

Interestingly, tests that i created with the old version of TPTP that i
still had in my file system showed the reports fine (i have annoyingly now
deleted them). Could you send me any valid scripts to see if the reports
show when they are created in another eclipse instance?

cheers for your help

Will

Hi Will,
I have downloaded a fresh 4.3.1 install (TPTP SDK, Eclipse SDK, EMF,
BIRT and GEF), created a new URL recording/test suite (testing eclipse.org),
and generated each of the report types. The same code and reports are here:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/attachment.cgi?id=72676

Unfortunately, I also found a new defect with the BIRT reports when used
with URL test suites:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=194745

Can you try re-installing TPTP 4.3.1 again?
