Hello, I have been reading about computer programming online for a few days and decided to use eclipse to continue so I can actually begin programming, but there are soooooo many downloads I have no idea which to pick.

I have not downloaded anything yet, so if you can tell me which downloads I should get that would be greatly appreciated, i'm currently using a windows xp desktop.

Why not start with a tutorial on Java programming alone:

If you're learning Java, download the package named "Eclipse IDE for
Java Developers". You can always add the features from other packages later.
You might also be interested in the ide4edu project which is aimed
specifically at students who are learning programming.

Hope this helps,
Eric
