My job is requiring me to take Eclipse for Mac and package a bunch of our custom plug-ins, and then give it out to our users as a one bundle. We need to make it a bit more our own, so we've changed the splash screen and replaced the .icns file inside the eclipse.app package content.

However, when I replace the .icns file to our icon, Eclipse is no longer a signed application, and the OSX firewall is giving us fits since one of our plug-ins has incoming connections. Due to a bug in the OSX firewall, it prompts this everytime, and the only away around it is to keep Eclipse as a signed application. How do I go about either re-signing Eclipse with the new icons, or changing the icons without editing the package contents?

(Note that just changing the icon in Finder does not change the icon in the dock when Eclipse is running).

Thank you!!!

Since you provide your own content you have to get your own certificate
and use this to resign the JAR(s). If it would be easy to tweak a JAR
without breaking its signature it would destroy the whole idea of
signing the JAR ;-)

I'm not really interested in signing an jar file, just the eclipse.app that launches the program. Or a better way of customizing icons without un-signing Eclipse.
