Setting up Text for Terminal [message #429488] Sun, 07 March 2004 22:15

I'm trying to setup a Text box to act as a Terminal for serial port
access. The terminal device prints out the text command entered by
default, so right now, I get repeated output.

Example:

R>help es <-- I type in Text box
R>help es <-- Terminal Returns
es - display current emulation system <-- Terminal Returns

So, I just want to suppress the character echo in the Text box for the
input I type. I tried "textBox.setEchoChar(' ')" but that did not give me
precisely what I want.

The terminal returns the input I type as soon as I type it, so I don't
really need the echoChar at all. I cannot change the way the terminal
device works, so I have to fix this programmatically.

Any ideas?
