I was told last week by Wind River insiders that DSDP was approved as a
top-level project, yet Eclipse.org still shows it as in the proposal phase.

Can someone verify the project's current status and tell me when the Web
site will reflect that?

Thanks,

The Device Software Development Platform (DSDP) is still a proposal. I
don't know who inside Wind River told you that it was approved, but that
statement was incorrect.

The Creation Review (the first of three steps in getting the approval
for a new top-level project) will be held on June 2nd. See:
http://www.eclipse.org/org/processes/index.html

Following a successful Creation Review, the Board of Directors and the
EMO have to approve the project. That will take additional time.
Top-level projects are a significant commitment by everyone involved and
their approval is done more carefully, and thus takes more time, than a
normal incubated Technology project.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion,
