Visual SourceSafe Plugin? [message #308992] Thu, 12 October 2006 16:14

Hi Everyone,

We have a customer who uses Microsoft Visual SourceSafe rather than CVS.
Our product is based on the Eclipse runtime (version 3.2.1) and has
awesome CVS support out-of-the-box thanks to Eclipse! However, they are
wondering how to use our product with VSS. I have found the following
plugins on Eclipse plugin central:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/vssplugin

This one seems to be unmaintained since 2005, and only compatible with
Eclipse 3.1

And:

http://www.dynamsoft.com/Products/SAW_Overview.aspx

This is a commercial product that seems reasonably new that provides an
Eclipse plug-in. I'm assuming it is in no way related to the above
Sourceforge project.

Not having a VSS repository myself (and knowing nothing about it) I can't
speak to the usefulness of either one of these. Has anyone tried either
one and would like to share their opinion? Are there any other plug-ins
that I may be missing?

Any feedback and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mark.
