No. As of about 3.3, that is no longer a good way to install.
Ideally, Hibernate should be providing a repository, that you would install from
by going to Help -> Install New Software and adding the repository location;
then Eclipse handles the downloading and installing into the right place, and
also makes sure you have all the prerequisites (such as other plugins).
If Hibernate does not provide a repo, then you need to manually install. To do
that, unpack the zip into the 'dropins' folder, so you will end up with a
directory structure something like this:
.../eclipse
/dropins
/features
/plugins
