Hi,

has anybody tried to run SWTBot tests in a RAP (eclipse.org/rap)
environment? I thought I ask first before I digg into that.

Cheers
Benny

Hi All!

I would like also to ask the same question. Unfortunately, I cannot find more information on this topic.

I am evaluating several test automation tools in on order to select a test platform to build UI functional tests for a web application developed with RAP. This application is being now upgraded to RAP 2.1.

Therefore, I would like to ask whether SWTBot provides support for testing web applications developed with RAP 2.1. If yes, are there any instructions that could help me write some tests in order to to evaluate it?

Thank you in advance for your help.

AFAIK, no-one reported any tentative (neither success nor failure) to
use SWTBot with RAP. I don't know whether that would work or not, and I
don't know if SWTBot should/could run on RAP client-side or server side.
You'll have to try that by yourself. Please report your conclusions, as
they'll for sure be helpful to many other poeple.

However, I'm not sure it would make sense to use SWTBot to test a web
application, may it be RAP-based on not. It's generally better IMO to
write test that are very close to normal usage scenario. If you have a
webapp, it probably make more sense to write tests using Selenium or
another web-bot.
