I need to use SU to gain access to certain files on a remote server,
however, I do not have permissions to get in. I tried using the shell,
but that did not work. I do not have access to "root". I do have the SU
password.

Hi Allen,

I think that when you have the su password, you should be
able to su root on the remote machine and launch an RSE
DStore Server there. That way, your RSE Server should
run with root permissions.

1. su -
2. perl server.pl 12345
3. In RSE client, create a dstore connection for your host
Set DStore launcher to "Running"
4. In the created connection, select the "Files" subsystem
Right-click > Properties and specify the Port as 12345
