Feature request [message #24650] Tue, 12 August 2008 11:27 Go to next message

Hi all

I have a set of interactive builds all using buckminster. I would like
to reduce the number of times the same code is built. My intial build
creates an update site with binaries for most of my features/plugins. I
would like to use this update site for the majority of my other builds
and grab source for the missing components. I thought I could use an
advisor node for this but there is a problem. I can only set the source
level to INDIFFERENT|REJECT|DESIRE|REQUIRE. What I really need is the
opposite of DESIRE, perhaps AVOID. This would give preference to binary
objects over source objects. Is there any chance this could be implemented?

Regards
Doug

I think the attached patch should provide the funtionality I'm asking
for at the core level; is this sufficient or would changes be required
at other levels too?

Doug

Hi Douglas,
Can you please enter this as a bugzilla? I'd like to encourage the use
of our bugzilla since it gives us a better chance to keep track of things.

I know we haven't been following that approach to the letter in the past
but I really want us to move in that direction.

Thanks,
Thomas Hallgren
