Hi,

I have a fresh install of Ganymede using the " Eclipse IDE for Java
EE Developers" download. When I go to configure Subversive I find that
I do not have an SVN connector, not even the default. How do I rectify
this?

Btw, there are no errors in the eclipse log file.

Okay, I figured out that you have to get the connect from Polarion
update site. Btw, I that is not in the installation instructions

Default Native JavaHL (0x00100000: Cannot load libraries: no svnjavahl
in java.library.path)

Btw, I am running on Mac OS X 10.4 (Leopard) is anything special required.

I am rather disappointed (frustrated) all in all that Subversive is not
a simple plug and play. I have used the Collabnet SVN support up to
now, but I was hoping that with Subversive now being an Eclipse project
and shipping with Ganymede that I would be able to switch over.

I would appreciate any assistance at getting my install sorted.

I figured out that I need the SVNKit plug-in.

Possibly it is simply that I am dim-witted as I do not see bunches of
posts complaining about not being able to get this running. IAC, I
would request that a bit of background on what is really needed to get
this running (for us slow coaches) would be helpful.

Leopard is 10.5 btw, but I believe, you need to install the Polarion
Connector from a separate URL in any case.

The documentation on that is very bad, I fully agree.
And I also don't understand, why the improved new Ganymede Dependendy
Lookup of Update Manager (which still does seem to have flaws in other
areas btw, but that's not the issue here) cannot be used for 3rd Party
dependencies like the Polarion one, too??

I know "legal" issues are claimed reason here, but people like you won't
understand why they have to install things from 2-3 different sources
manually all the time...

The fact is that the native connectors require native JavaHL binaries, and
these are distributed only for Windows platform from Polarion update-site.

So, you have to find the binaries manually and add them to PATH variable
(i really do not know this environment variable name on MacOS:)) or use
SVN Kit.

The error log is empty, cause plug-in is really working but can't work
with SVN itself.

Maybe the documentation is not quite understandable, but we tried to
mention on so many places as we could. Even after installing Subversive
the start screen contains the link to the information about installing
connectors.

Yup, I was in a rush, I meant 10.5.4 that just came in this week.
Thanks for clarifying.

For the record, it is not the "legal" issues that concerned or confused
me, but the fact that there was no one place were I could find the
whole story clearly documented. In the end I figured it all out, but I
had to do a few Google searches (thank Thor Google;-) to put together
the various pieces of the puzzle. I expect more from an Eclipse
project, especially one that is on the release train.

Though the notes at Polarion.org suggest that Windows is not affected by
this problem, it seems like Windows is not immune after all. I have
Ganymede on Windows XP Professional SP3. I installed all of the SVN
connectors available at the Polarion update site, and I see the 0x00100000
error.

The exact error message I see is:

Native JavaHL (0x00100000: Cannot load libraries: C:\Program
Files\eclipse\plugins\org.polarion.eclipse.team.svn.connecto r.javahl15.win32_2.0.1.I20080612-1500\ssleay32.dll:

Given that any Subversion client (in whatever form) is supposed to be
backward compatible, doesn't it mean that everybody should install only
JavaHL Connector 1.5?

What kind of solution have you found? Are you using the SVNKit
implementation or JavaHL now?

If you are using JavaHL, can you share your procedure in getting it to
work with SVN Team Provider?

I installed JavaHL through MacPorts (the "subversion-javahlbindings"
package), but SVN Team Provider still can't use it - I've tried setting
the java.library.path.
