Hi,

what is the difference between dstore and ssh connection? What additional
features does the dstore server provide?

Axel

dstore requires a java-based server to run on the Remote,
whereas ssh requires a (smaller, less resource intensive)
native server, the sshd. This makes ssh an option for
embedded devices as well.

In terms of features, dstore allows
* Remote archive handling (browsing into tar, tgz, zip)
* Remote search (without transferring all files)
* More exact classification of files by type

dstore can be extended by more (Java based) miners to
perform specific advanced remote operations with
minimal network transfer.

ssh is a standards based solution, is available on most
servers out of the box, but provides fewer features.

Does that help?
Cheers,
