I installed the standalone product (v1.1), 64 bit for my WIN 7 64 bit OS.

When I try to run LuaDevelopmentTools.exe, I get an error that it cannot find the java.exe. It searches the LDT program directory. I am not sure why it searches for my java runtime there as it is installed in its own directory?

Anyway, I tried to solve it by creating a shortcut and used LuaDevelopmentTools.exe -vm C:\MyPath\java.exe.

Java then started but I got an error from LDT: "Java was started but returned exit code=13". This was then followed by a bunch of info (I am not able to copy/paste from this window)

Maybe I am missing something basic here...?

I test this today, and I get the same problem you have because I had java 32 bit installed on my win7 64 bit.
It seems this is a frequent "issue" on windows 64.

You should try LDT 32bit for windows or install java 64 bit version (http://www.java.com/fr/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml)

Thank you! I used LTD 32 bit (with my 32 bit Java) and Lua Dev tools now launch fine.

Next is a question about how to find syntax errors (using error markers). I posted this separately: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/769736/1372444/#msg_1372444
