I guess that you can try it using something like:

-- @atlcompiler atl2006
module M;
create O : OUT refining I : IN;

and see if the compiler accepts it.

Hello,

Yes, the current version of ATL 2006 does not support refining mode yet.

Because you can specify which compiler to use for each transformation,
you can use ATL 2006 when you do not need refining mode, and ATL 2004
otherwise.
