GEF development frozen? [message #223689] Wed, 04 October 2006 15:11 Go to next message

has new development on GEF stopped entirely? i notice there are no
builds for Eclipse 3.3 milestones.

i see that the GMF team has taken over GEF. surely it would make sense
to refactor some of the GMF functionality into the GEF core. are there
any plans to make this happen?

Hi Al,

Development is not frozen, see
http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.tools.gef/msg1 7326.html .

We have not ran any builds as we have not delivered any changes. We will
post GEF 3.3 plans this month.

We have no plans to push any GMF features down into GEF.

Cheers...
Anthony

thanks. it'll be good to see the GEF 3.3 plans. there are several
features in GMF that i'd like to see in GEF (or at least free of EMF
dependencies). if they're not in the 3.3 plans, i may go ahead and
create a GEF add-on that has them.

is there a process for providing feature requests for 3.3?
